Overview

The Faculty of Management (FoM) at RJU, which has been an example of academic brilliance and professional development in the field of business and management education, offers a semester-based, four-year, and 120-credit-hour Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. This program is especially for those who have the leadership ability to lead and manage public and private business organizations through their academic knowledge, which graduates gain at RJU.

The program is managed and administered in such a manner that graduates develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills and strategic decision-making skills, which allows RJU graduates to succeed in the highly competitive real-world business environment. With the creative and result-oriented academic offering, the RJU aims to equip its graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully lead organizations of any size across the globe.

Objectives

Like BBA offerings of various other Universities, the primary objective of BBA at RJU is to develop leadership skills in the graduates who can lead any business-oriented organisation to a prosperous future through their academic knowledge and skills, which they learn while going through their academic journey. This BBA program will develop positive attitudes, abilities and practical skills that are needed for a competent and responsible manager. Further, the program lays the foundation for higher-level education. Some of the notable objectives are:

  • Develop leadership skills in graduates, along with making them aware of their social responsibilities.
  • Prepare graduates towards successful career pathways in business and management.
  • Develop graduates’ entrepreneurial critical thinking ability.

Curricular Structure:

BBA at RJU is a 120-credit-hour academic course that has five functional areas, which are listed below:

  • Management and Allied Courses: For developing students’ understanding about the world of business, it covers subjects such as Foundations of Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Operations Management. It has a total of 83 credit hours.
  • Computer-Related Courses: To give students a solid foundation in ICT, this course covers subjects like Information Technology for Business, Database Management, Management Information System and Data Analysis and Modelling. It has a total of 12 credit hours.
  • Specialisation Area Courses: With a total of 15 credit hours, it covers areas like Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Information Technology Science. The course aims to develop the knowledge and skills to drive students to a successful career.
  • Seminar, Simulation, and Practicum: With 7 credit hours, this course aims to develop critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills by going through subjects like Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences.
  • Internship: BBA at RJU also offers 3 3-credit-hour internship, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting. This helps to polish their business and problem-solving skills by gaining invaluable real-life experience.

Admission Eligibility

Academic requirements

An individual who seeks to enrol on the BBA at RJU must fulfil the academic require as mentioned below:

  • The candidate should have successfully completed at least 10+2 with a minimum score of 45%.
  • Or, the candidate should have scored a minimum of a “D” grade in each subject from any University, Board, or Institution recognised by the RJU.
  • Or, the candidate should have scored a minimum CGPA of 1.5 on the scale of 4.0.

Entrance Examination

Authorised by the Faculty of Management, RJU administers its entrance test, which is known as Rajarshi Janak University Central Management Admission Test (RJU-CMAT). Comprising 100 MCQ-based questions, candidates are required to score a minimum of 40 marks within the given time.

The RJU-CMAT format of the Entrance examination is given below:

  • Question Type: MCQ-based.
  • Total questions: 100.
  • Total Marks: 100.
  • Pass marks: 40.
  • Time: 2 hours.

Candidates who succeed on the entrance examination are called for an in-person interview. The final merit list is published, enrolling students who satisfy all the conditions.

Submission charge: NRS 1,000.

Late submission charge: NRS 500.

Evaluation and Grading Scheme

For bringing out the best in BBA graduates, the RJU provides an engaging and dynamic learning environment. To provide a clear concept about the topic under discussion, the university encourages students to participate in class lectures, group discussions, seminars, case studies, guest lectures, research and project work along with regular assignments.

The university conducts internal and external examinations to evaluate students. Their format is given below:

  • Internal examination: Bearing 40% weightage of the final grade, the students are evaluated regularly by faculty members throughout the semester via quizzes, tutorials, home assignments, and class participation.
  • External examination: Bearing 60% weightage of the final grade, the Faculty of Management conducts semester-end examinations to evaluate students.

For graduation, students must separately pass internal and external examinations, at least with a “C+” grade. The student must appear for an 8-week-long internship at the relevant business organisation, prepare a final report and score at least a “B” grade for completing the course. Candidates who satisfy all the conditions mentioned above are eligible for graduation.

Makeup examination

The makeup examination is available in the subsequent semester. However, this option is available only to those candidates who fail in no more than two subjects and have at least 75% class attendance. If the candidates again fail the makeup examination, he/she must complete the course cycle again.
